ARTS IN THE PARK: Reflextions
Light inspired art installations
AUG 9-11, Sept 15 & Oct 20

 Artists are invited to submit proposals for light inspired art to be displayed in Grangebel Park, Riverhead, NY 


To create a walkable, interactive experience for visitors to the park, with a daytime component as a standalone art display (when not illuminated), and at nighttime experience when illuminated. Art in the Park will make Grangebel park accessible as a free public art space and to encourage the use of the under-utilized park for all to enjoy. The “light art” installation will be used during various existing events (Alive on 25, Friday night concert series, Halloween Fest , etc) as well as newly created events throughout the year.

Description of Reflections:

A Temporary Art installation in Milton L Burns Park in Downtown Riverhead, also known as Grangebel Park, featuring assorted elements of “LIGHT”, based on artist interpretations and designs that result in a tangible exhibit. Elements of light could include LED, Incandescent, Laser, Fire, Black light, Day Glow and photo luminescent displays against a darkened sky.

Two opportunities for artist:

  • Art utilizing CDS are encouraged. Selected artists will be provided 500 CDS for the construction of their installation. SELECTED ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE A $350. STIPEND
  • Commissioned art for exhibit, SELECTED ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE upwards of $1,000. For art work
